Organisation Profile

Lakeshore Co -operative Savings and Credit Society Ltd (Lakeshore SACCO) was first registered under the name of Buwagajo Fishing Co operatives Society Ltd in 1988 under the Primary Co operative Societies Act, 1970. The committee adopted a new approach to develop its members by changing the objectives of the society to become a savings and credit society and amended the name to Lakeshore Co operative Savings and Credit Society Ltd on in 2006 while maintaining its original registration number.

Mission
To alleviate poverty among its members, improve individual welfare, through savings and enabling credit to majority of the members at affordable interest rates


Lakeshore Sacco has improved both the economic and welfare of its members in its area of operation which comprises all wards/parishes of Njeru Town Council.

Lakeshore Sacco has a future strategy to improve on its operations by recruiting more members as a way of increasing both capital and savings thereby increasing its institutional financial capacity to enable members to access more loans to alleviate poverty among themselves.
