Hope Multipurpose Incorporated (HMI) is a non-profit organisation started in 2004 by the late Beatrice Garubanda. She founded HMI to bring together friends in both Uganda and Minnesota to address the needs of Ugandan orphans and vulnerable children. She began by adapting an abandoned store in Kazo into a shelter such that a group of homeless girls could go to primary school.
